Lawyers Form National Default Attorney Group, Appoint Exec Director Kristin Campbell | 10.19.06 Several law firms across the country have joined forces to create the Default Attorney Group, also known as DAG, the group announced Thursday. Organizers say the group was formed to provide lenders and servicers within the default industry a "network of excellence." DAG currently includes seven law firms across the U.S. that represent 18 states. The goal is to have all 50 states represented. DAG’s services encompass a range of real-estate related matters, including bankruptcy, foreclosure and litigation. Kathleen Guerrette-Mitchell was appointed as executive director of DAG. She is president of KGM Consulting, a firm specializing in organizational management within the default industry. In addition to launching KGM Consulting in December 2005, Guerrette-Mitchell served on the executive team of the American Legal and Financial Network. She has more than 25 years of experience in the mortgage banking industry, including a decade at Freddie Mac, where she developed and managed the company's industry acclaimed Designated Counsel program. DAG’s managing members include co-managing member Berry F. Laws III of Martin, Leigh, Laws & Fritzlen, P.C.; Alan Such of the Fein Such Law Group; and Julie Taylor-Moran of Barron & Stadfeld, PC. Other members of DAG include James P. Bonner of Brock & Scott, PLLC; Carolyn A. Taylor of Hughes Watters Askanase L.L.P.; Daniel C. Consuegra of the Law Offices of Daniel C. Consuegra; and Frank J. Veneziano of Weltman, Weinberg & Reis Co., L.P.A. In its mission statement, DAG says it is “committed to professional and ethical representation of the mortgage servicing and default industries, excellence in timeline management, the ability to offer cradle to grave processes and assistance to reduce severity loss through loss mitigation programs.” DAG also says it is dedicated to using the latest technology to increase client efficiency.
